Courreges
The eponymous French luxury house Courrèges, founded by André and Coqueline Courrèges in 1961, revolutionized the world of women's ready-to-wear. The house holds a place in fashion history for its visionary style and futuristic designs.
Along with his contemporaries Paco Rabanne and Pierre Cardin, he transformed the look of the 1960s, transforming boxy shapes, thigh-skimming lengths, and bold accessories into must-haves for the era's go-go girls. He is credited with inventing the miniskirt, although he was also one of the first designers to put women in trousers and use tracksuits as a "second skin."
